13 weeks tomorrow! Tried picking up baby’s heartbeat for the first time with an at home fetal Doppler. No luck. When was everyone able to hear baby’s heartbeat with at home Doppler?

my OB used one on Monday at my 13w appointment and she couldn’t find the heartbeat. I started bawling my eyes because I’ve had a MMC before but then she had me do an ultrasound and baby was all comfy and fine! They even said my placenta is up in front and they still couldn’t find the heartbeat with Doppler. I was considering using/getting one but I do NOT need that added anxiety in my life �� If my OB couldn’t find the heartbeat then I already know I won’t be able to.

Every pregnancy is different. With my first I had a hard time finding his HR with an at home Doppler even at 20 weeks. His placenta was in the front which made feeling him and getting his heart rate super hard. With my second I was able to find his around 14 weeks with the Doppler. With my 3rd I found her at about 9 1/2 weeks, but she moves often. So it’s enough to reassure me she’s fine and she’s still there, but she’s too quick to get a good reading on how fast her heart is beating.

Had an OB appointment earlier this week at 14 weeks and 4 days and she found baby’s heart beat literally on my pubic bone.
